Celebrating 20 Years of Giving In Your Community

The Main Event: Celebrating Our Community Roots

We had so much fun celebrating the Foundation's 20th anniversary on September 12, 2015, at the Hill-Stead Museum in Farmington!

The Main Event was presented by Barnes Group Foundation and Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. THANK YOU to all of the sponsors; the attendees; the local businesses who supported the event through ads and donations; and the Event Committee for making this event a success! Proceeds from the event supported our community leadership efforts, also known as “Money in Motion”, (learn more about this initiative here) as we work to strengthen and grow the towns that we serve.

Over 220 people attended the farm-to-table gathering and enjoyed a cocktail reception, silent auction, live auction, entertainment and a unique dinner. Check out the Foundation's Facebook page for photos from the memorable evening!

At the 20th anniversary celebration, a video commemorating the Foundation's 20th anniversary debuted. Visit the Foundation's YouTube page to view the video!

THANK YOU TO THE MAIN EVENT SPONSORS!

Established in 1995, Main Street Community Foundation turned 20 years old on March 17, 2015. Looking back at 20 years, much has been accomplished. Starting in the 1970’s, a small group of local residents came together to discuss an idea of what is now a $38 million community foundation made up of over 200 funds. The support of many individuals, families, and businesses has had a tremendous impact on our growth.

Thank you for joining us in our mission of enhancing the quality of life for both present and future generations in your communities.

20 Grants in 20 Days

In recognition of the Foundation's 20th anniversary, we decided to give presents back to the communities through a special 20 Grants in 20 Days program. Twenty $1,000 grants were awarded from the Bristol Savings Bank Fund to nonprofits located in and impacting the communities of Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington and Wolcott.
