This scholarship fund was established in memory of Alicia Mary Butler, who passed away in June 2021. Alicia was born and raised in Bristol, a graduate of St. Paul Catholic High School, and was a lifelong educator. She lived a life full of love, compassion, meaning and purpose. In her career as a teacher and school psychologist in the Cromwell Public Schools and at The Foundation School in Orange, she was a dedicated, devoted champion of special needs children. In addition to her love of family, friends and her students, she had a soft spot for abandoned/neglected animals. She enjoyed her "country cottage" Hamden home, relaxing in the verdant garden yard. This scholarship will assist a graduating senior or graduate from one of the three Bristol high schools who is pursuing a major in education or a related education pathway.
