April 09, 2018 - The Burlington Food and Fuel Bank gives local residents a helping hand every week. Now, the Burlington Community Fund at Main Street Community Foundation gave them a helping a hand. The Burlington Food and Fuel Bank was recently awarded a $500 grant from the Burlington Community Fund for the purchase of two small carts and additional baskets to improve supervision of food distribution as well as some tamper-proof storage containers.

The Burlington Food and Fuel Bank is located in the Burlington Town Hall and provides residents with the assistance they need in order to provide for basic needs and improve the quality of their lives.

The Burlington Community Fund was founded in 2011 by a group of committed community leaders in Burlington to create an endowment fund to support charitable projects and programs that will enhance the quality of life for their neighbors. The Fund regularly assesses community needs and awards grants accordingly. In addition, the Fund holds an annual grant cycle with applications being made available July 15 and due September 15.
