You’re invited to play mini-golf and bowl while celebrating families with the Men & Boys’ Fund of the Main Street Community Foundation. Family, Fun & Fathers will be held on Friday, June 14 from 5 pm to 8 pm at Lessard Lanes in Plainville. It’s a great way to honor and spend time with fathers and families while supporting local men and boys.

Tickets are $20 for the first adult, $15 for the first child, and $10 for each additional family member. They can be purchased by sending payment to Main Street Community Foundation, PO Box 2702, Bristol, CT 06010. Tickets must be purchased in advance by Friday, June 7.

Every ticket includes two games of bowling, one round of mini-golf, a pizza slice, a soft drink, and a raffle ticket for various prizes. Proceeds from the night out will benefit the Men & Boys’ Fund, which makes it possible for men and boys to improve the quality of their lives, increase self-sufficiency, and make a positive difference in their community. The Fund serves Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, and Wolcott.

“This is a fun-raiser, not just a fundraiser,” said Rodger Stotz the Fund’s Advisory Board Chair. “The main purpose is to provide men, boys, and their families with a fun-filled event while getting to know more people in the community.”

Since its establishment in 2016, the Men & Boys’ Fund has provided more than $10,000 in program and immediate response grants to help improve the conditions and opportunities for local boys and men. In 2018, the Men & Boys’ Fund awarded $6,000 in grants to local nonprofits for a work and life skills program for high school students; a program for single fathers; and camperships for boys. The Fund also awards immediate response grants to give a helping hand to someone in need of immediate assistance due to a particular life situation or unexpected financial hardship.
