This scholarship fund was established in 2024 in memory of Philip “Randy” Doucette by his family. “Coach” as he was affectionately known, was highly accomplished with the Plainville High School (PHS) swim team where he earned the CIAC Connecticut Boys Swimming Coach of the Year in 2009, and was later inducted into the Plainville High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2015. Coach, who graduated from PHS in 1966, was also a physical education teacher for 37 years at PHS, challenging his students and athletes to always “work hard and keep your head in the game” in every aspect of life. Scholarships will be awarded annually to residents of Plainville who are graduating seniors of Plainville High School and current members in good standing of the PHS Swim Team.
