Foundation Participating in "The Joy of Sharing" - And We Want Your Help!
November 18, 2014 - Your friends and neighbors need your help.
Main Street Community Foundation is participating in The Joy of Sharing, a program run by the United Way of West Central Connecticut. The Community Foundation will be conducting a Holiday Toy and Gift Drive through December 8, 2014 and all items, as well as monetary donations, can be dropped off at the Foundation’s office at 200 Main Street in Bristol.
Unwrapped toys and gifts for children between the ages of 3 and 14 are being collected and you can help make the holidays more special for those individuals and families who are struggling this year by donating. The largest need is for toys and gifts for children between the ages of 10 and 12, and things like electronics, sports equipment, perfumes and other pre-teen items are encouraged. These toys and gifts will help make a positive change in the lives of hundreds of local individuals and families. Last year alone, over 3,000 toys and gifts were donated. This year, the need is greater than ever and we need your help!
United Way’s annual Joy of Sharing Program has been providing food, toys and gifts to children, teens, and families in need in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville and Plymouth for over 15 years.
