Jeffrey C. Holdsworth Memorial Scholarship Fund
Established in 2024 by Jeffrey’s wife, Jessica Pieri, in loving memory of Jeffrey C. Holdsworth. Jeffrey passed away in April of 2024 at the age of 37 due to complications from cancer. Jeff had a love of sports that began at an early age and carried on throughout his life. Jeff worked as a Senior Software Engineer at ESPN, dedicating his talents to enhancing the sports viewing experience for millions. Throughout his illustrious twelve-year career, he earned six Emmy Awards for his outstanding contributions, a testament to his talent and innovation during his tenure at ESPN.
While in high school Jeff played football and baseball for Columbia High School. Jeff had a love for all sports, but especially British Football often making a trip to Manchester, England to cheer on his favorite team, Manchester United. Jeff also had a love for music from an early age. It was that love for music that led him to play the trumpet in concert band growing up.
Both Jeffrey and Jessica have a passion for supporting and mentoring the next generation. This scholarship fund has been established to support graduating seniors pursuing a career in sports media or engineering. Preference will be given to students who participated in high school sports or band. A scholarship will be awarded annually to a resident of Bristol, Burlington, Farmington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, West Hartford, or Wolcott Connecticut.
