This scholarship fund was established by the daughter of Kathryn Onofrio Sharr as a loving tribute to her mother and to help those as she was helped. Kathryn, a 1938 graduate of Bristol High and the third oldest of six children, lost both her parents by the time she was 16. Despite these losses, she managed to graduate in the top 10 percent of her class and received a scholarship anonymously, enabling her to pursue her chosen profession. Her family wishes to honor her memory by making the same opportunity available to deserving graduates of Bristol’s high schools. The scholarships will be awarded for post-secondary studies including career training programs that result in a certified credential.
