MSCF Accepting Grant Applications from Organizations Serving Southington

Main Street Community Foundation is accepting letters of intent for grants from the Bradley Henry Barnes and Leila Upson Barnes Memorial Trust. Nonprofit organizations may apply for new capital projects, programs or initiatives that improve the health and wellbeing of Southington residents. The deadline to apply is January 28, 2022 at 4 p.m.

Interested 501(c)(3) organizations must contact Kate Kerchaert, Director of Grants & Programs, at kate@mainstreetfoundation.org or 860-583-6363 for a preliminary discussion at least 7 business days prior to the deadline. The Online Grants Center can be accessed through the Foundation’s website, and includes the application, the full guidelines and eligibility criteria.

In 2021, Main Street Community Foundation awarded a total of $857,213 from Bradley Henry Barnes and Leila Upson Barnes Memorial Trust. Originally established in 1973 by the late Bradley Henry Barnes of Southington to support the health and health care needs of Southington residents, the Trust was transferred to Main Street Community Foundation in 2004. Since that time, over $11.4 million has been granted from it to improve health outcomes of Southington residents.
