Main Street Community Foundation has awarded a $2,500 grant to Wolcott-based Thy Eagle’s Nest. Thy Eagle’s Nest provides new and gently used clothing, furniture, and household items to families and individuals with low to moderate incomes. This grant will support the purchase of a large vehicle to pick up and distribute items to their clients who do not have the means to pick up larger items like beds, mattresses, and furniture.

Thy Eagle’s Nest is a 100 percent volunteer-based organization that provides clients a space to shop for items that have been donated by community members. Representatives of MSCF were able to visit Thy Eagle’s Nest to see their facility and celebrate the grant award. The grant was made possible with a distribution from the Bristol Savings Bank Fund through the Foundation’s general grant cycle.

Because of the closing of For Goodness Sake in Plainville, an organization that provided a similar service, MSCF was proud to award this grant to fill a gap in services in Wolcott and the surrounding area.
