Newly Established Scholarship in Memory of Bristol Woman Accepting Applications
When Alicia Butler passed away in June 2021, it was natural for her friends and family to honor her memory by establishing a scholarship fund at Main Street Community Foundation. Alicia was born and raised in Bristol, a graduate of St. Paul Catholic High School, and was a lifelong educator. In her career as a teacher and school psychologist in the Cromwell Public Schools and at The Foundation School in Orange, she was a dedicated and devoted champion of special needs children. The Alicia M. Butler Memorial Scholarship Fund will continue her legacy of living a life full of love, compassion, meaning and purpose.
The first award from this Fund will be granted this spring. A $1,000 scholarship is available to a graduating senior or past graduate from one of the three Bristol high schools who is pursuing a major in education or a related education pathway.
Applications are being accepted through March 11, 2022. To view all eligibility criteria and requirements, and to apply for the scholarship, visit the Foundation's online application site here.
For more information and questions on applying for this and other scholarships, contact Samantha Rajotte, Scholarship & Program Officer, at Main Street Community Foundation, at 860.583.6363 or samantha@mainstreetfoundation.org.
Anyone interested in making a contribution to the Alicia M. Butler Memorial Scholarship Fund may do so at any time by donating online or by sending donations to Main Street Community Foundation, P.O. Box 2702, Bristol, CT 06010.
