The Men & Boys’ Fund at Main Street Community Foundation is celebrating their 5th anniversary with a breakfast event on Thursday, June 9th at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Bristol. Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30am, while the program begins at 8am.

The 5th Year Anniversary Celebration will feature two guest speakers: local author, TV host and community leader Eric Clemons and Vannessa L. Dorantes, LMSW, Commissioner, CT Department of Children and Families. Eric will address how boys can achieve success and share his personal story, while Vannessa will provide an overview of the specific needs and challenges men and boys in our state face.

“This is sure to be a morning of motivation and inspiration,” said Rich Carmelich, Chair of the Men & Boys’ Fund’s Advisory Board. “We are so excited for Eric, Vannessa and everyone to join us in celebration of the Fund’s first five years as we aim to build and even greater future together.”

Proceeds from this event will support grants for programs that make it possible for men and boys in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, and Wolcott to improve the quality of their lives and increase self-sufficiency. Because of the community’s generosity, the Men & Boys’ Fund has awarded over $36,000 in grants and immediate response funds since the Fund’s establishment in 2016 as a community-based endowment at Main Street Community Foundation.
