Join Main Street Community Foundation’s Women & Girls Fund for the 23rd Annual Wonder of Women (WOW) event on May 1st. WOW is an annual event whose proceeds support grants for programs that make it possible for women and girls in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, and Wolcott to improve the conditions and opportunities in their lives. Because of the community’s generosity and support of WOW, MSCF has awarded $780,000 in grants and immediate response funds from the Women & Girls Fund since its establishment in 2001 as a community-based endowment.

Not only will the event feature stories from grantees on the work they have been able to do for the communities with grant support from MSCF’s Women & Girls Fund, the guest speaker this year will be Robin Reiser. The WOW event will be held on May 1, 2024, at 5:30p.m. at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville. Seats are $65 per person and can be purchased today by sending payment via check to Main Street Community Foundation, P.O. Box 2702, Bristol, CT 06010.

“I am thrilled and honored to be the guest speaker for such a wonderful and impactful organization,” Robin Reiser stated. “Also, I hear the food will be pretty great too!” Robin is a comedian, writer, storyteller and speaker. She has appeared on NBC, E! and the Oxygen network; has written for stage and screen; and her storytelling can be heard on many podcasts, including RISK and THE ONLY ONE IN THE ROOM. Robin wrote and plays all the roles in the web series PINK EYE, and was an audience favorite on Last Comic Standing and at the Sundance Film Festival. After twenty years in Los Angeles, Robin has returned to the northeast to be closer to her parents and raise her son with seasons.
