Ervin E. Trask Scholarship Fund
Ervin E. Trask had given his entire adult life to the advancement of educational opportunities for all youth. He was born in Maine in 1899, but passed away in Plainville in 1956 at the age of 56. He was the superintendent of Plainville Community Schools for 15 years, and was the director of state basketball tournaments for 25 years with the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference. Ervin, “an outstanding example of leadership in education,” was well-loved and well-respected; May 25, 1955 was deemed “Mr. Trask Day” to honor his 35th anniversary in the field of education. This fund was transferred to Main Street Community Foundation in 2024 to continue his legacy of giving Plainville students the best opportunities for success. Scholarships are available annually to graduating seniors of Plainville High School with preference for students who are pursuing post-secondary studies in the education field.
